How much can I expect to “lose weight” per week and how long should it take?
The first thing you should know is that your goal should never be to "lose weight", but to reduce body fat (lose weight), since a person's problem is never "weigh too much" (it could be due to excess muscles or due to fluid retention). For example, professional athletes weigh a lot because they have a lot of muscles in their body, but they are not obese, and they are strong and lean. The real changes and reduction in body fat will be reflected in a smaller SIZE of clothing for women and a smaller WAIST for men. For this reason, we periodically take the "Actual Measurements" of the body with a tape measure, so as not to get confused with the issue of "body weight". If you do the right thing, you will see that three notable things will happen to your body: 1) clothing SIZES and WAIST will be reduced, 2) each day you will have more energy and you will tire less easily and 3) your health will improve significantly and the need for medications will be reduced if you are using them. Don't put your attention on "losing weight" because you will be sabotaging your own effort with a goal that is wrong. You want to LOSE LENGTH and this is evident in the reductions in clothing SIZES and in a smaller WAIST because body fat is reduced.
By improving your metabolism you can reduce up to 3 pounds (1.4 Kg) of fat per week, but that does not mean that you will “lose 3 pounds of weight” per week. So that you can lose weight permanently it is vital that you learn to THINK and MAKE RIGHT DECISIONS without depending on a list of what you are going to have for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Nothing will replace your KNOWLEDGE or the ability to decide what is good or bad for you. If you know how to distinguish between Type “A” foods and Type “E” foods, you can make your own menu and diet without anyone telling you what to eat. When can I exercise?
