    Want to Lose Weight?

    Start by Eliminating Soft Drinks

One of the most powerful and underrated changes you can make to improve your metabolism and start losing weight is to cut out soda.

Although at NaturalSlim® and the 3x1 Diet® there are no forbidden foods, we firmly believe that knowledge empowers you to make better choices. And when you understand what sodas really do to your body, you know that -although you could consume them- it's much better to stop.

Soft drinks: a trap for your metabolism

Carbonated soft drinks are full of phosphoric acid, a chemical compound used to keep sugar in suspension and create that "fizzy" feeling in your mouth. However, that "fizz" comes at a very high metabolic cost.

Phosphoric acid is highly acidifying. Our body, especially our blood, needs to be kept in a slightly alkaline state in order to transport oxygen efficiently. But when we consume soft drinks, the body's pH becomes more acidic, which reduces the amount of oxygen available to the cells.

The consequence? A slower metabolism, less fat burning and a greater tendency to gain weight.

    Silent dehydration

Another powerful reason to avoid soft drinks is the dehydration they cause. To neutralize the acidity of a single can of soda, the body needs between 29 and 32 glasses of water.

Since the body cannot allow the blood to become too acidic - as this is incompatible with life - it uses water to eliminate these acids through urine. This reduces cellular hydration, which directly affects metabolism.

    What about diet soda?

Many people think that switching to "light" or "diet" soft drinks is a solution. But the reality is that they are still very acidic and, in addition, may contain artificial sweeteners such as aspartame, which also affect metabolism.

These products do not provide calories, but they do contribute to dehydration and can alter the perception of sweet taste, generating more carbohydrate cravings and hindering weight loss or any other goal related to your metabolism.

💧 Water does count (and it should be pure water).

Many people think they are well hydrated because they drink coffee, juices or teas. But the body knows the difference between pure water and flavored liquids.

If the liquid has any flavor, the body considers it food and sends it through the digestive tract, not using it to hydrate the cells.

Pure water, with no taste or calories, goes straight into the bloodstream and improves oxygenation at the cellular level. More oxygen = more active metabolism. But... How much water should you drink?

Formula to know your water requirement:

    • If you weigh yourself in kilos: your weight ÷ 7 = 250 ml glasses.

    • If you weigh yourself in pounds: your weight ÷ 16 = 8 oz. glasses.

Start small. If you are not used to drinking water, start with 2-3 glasses a day and work your way up. You will see your energy, bowel movement and fat loss improve.

Changing soft drinks = Changing your metabolism

Soda sales have grown at the same rate as overweight and slow metabolism problems. Every can you stop consuming is a step towards a healthier, more hydrated body with better fat burning capacity.

Want to start improving your metabolism? Do everything you can to avoid soda.

    Your metabolism will thank you.
